2020年、千葉大学大学院園芸学研究科博士後期課程修了、博士（農学）。現在、日本体育大学子どものからだ研究所・助教。
子どもの遊び環境を専門とするランドスケープ計画の研究者・コミュニティデザイナー。子ども・地域住民・実践者・行政など、地域から国レベルまで多様な主体と協働しながら研究・実践を行っています。子どもの遊びや地域教育を入口に、住民とともに「自立・自治」のあり方を問い直し、まちづくりへとつなげていくことを大切にしています。特に、人々が日常的に抱える「不安」に象徴される「リスク社会」と、制度に過度に依存する「学校化社会」という二つの問題意識を軸に、生活空間と環境の編み直しに取り組んでいます。
7年間にわたる町内会館の共同運営の経験を持ち、日本冒険遊び場づくり協会主任研究員を務めるほか、自治体専門家委員、国土交通省インクルーシブな都市公園づくり委員会委員、ユニセフ「子どもにやさしいまちづくり」第三者評価委員を担当。

Mitsunari Terada (Charlie), PhD
is a community designer specializing in landscape planning for children's play environments. He collaborates with children, residents, practitioners, and policymakers from local to national levels. With seven years of experience co-managing a neighborhood association center, he currently serves as Assistant Professor at the Research Institute for Children's Physical Health, Nippon Sport Science University, and holds roles including IPA Japan, the Japan Adventure Playground Association, committee member on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's inclusive urban parks initiative, and third-party evaluator for UNICEF's Child Friendly Cities Initiative.
